Today Court and I did Halloween up at Euro Disney.. France hates Halloween/fun (Hence my "clementine-o-lantern" (see previous post......) So there is really not much to do in the city of Paris, unless you find an American / Canadian bar throwing a party.. So if you want some Halloween excitement, you have to head to Euro Disney.. Even websites tell you this, and websites never lie.
Disney really knows how to do things right. They made the whole theme park up just for halloween. They had these crazy pumpkin people all over the park doing strange things... There are a few pictures below!
The park itself was really fun! It's quite a bit smaller than Disney O.C., and it's missing some of the staples like Splash Mountain and the Matterhorn, but what it lacks in rides, it makes up for in slack safety regulations, because the French-ized versions of the rides they do have are a lot faster and whip-lashier!
Space Mountain is probably 20% faster, and has 2 full 360 degree inversions. Indiana Jones is just a straight out rollercoaster, also with a 360 degree loop.. and Thunder mountain is just sped up and jerkier.. Both C and I have sore necks..
The other two staple attractions, Pirates and the Haunted Mansion, are also there.. Pirates is mostly the same, although there is no "Movie" related stuff in this ride (C and I found this pleasing..).. And the line up to the ride is very intricate and cool... It is like weaving through and underground prison maze. A prison full of amped up children with an embargo on deodorant, but a prison none-the-less..
The Haunted Mansion was really cool, and the only ride we did twice.. Its called "Phantom Manor," and it is Wild West themed! It has about half the gags of the OC Haunted Mansion, but about half totally new stuff.. I like it when they change things up!
Considering that we were there on a Holiday, it really wasnt too crowded... The longest lines were 45 minutes (Which I dont think were really that long, thats what the sign said), and the shortest were maybe 10 minutes.. Not the 2 hours waits you see in USA...
This entry is getting long so I'll leave you with some photos.. Its about 8 pm here tonight, and we are going out for dinner (not a haunted dinner.. Just lasagna) ... This was actually one of the most fun halloweens I have ever had!!!
